The pedal-powered Sky Cycle roller coaster, located in Japan’s Washuzan Highland Park, first made the rounds online about 3-years ago. Fortunately, the coaster’s “side-by-side tandem pedal-powered carts have seat belts, and a cute pink basket.” Now, there’s a video of it in-action!
Yachts are cool and all, but what are you supposed to do when you get to the shore? Swedish boat designer Eduard Gray has the answer: drive off of your boat in a matching sports car. He calls his creation the Strand Craft 122 (the back of which you can see pictured above), and he based its around the Ferrari Testa Rossa. His design philosophy is a little, um — well, just see for yourself: “We have really tried to achieve a strong harmony in our design — so that the car looks like it was literally born inside the hull of the yacht,” Gray said.

With monumental changes in the design of all types of cruising yachts, we were probably waiting to see the most innovative of them all. The Origami yacht designed by the “Millennium Yacht Design Awards” winner Fabio Federici, is a multipurpose yacht that allows you to experience the sea like never before. With the yacht’s design to epitomize your seagoing experience, this concept yacht features a unique and multi-functional deck that allows you to use it just as you desire. Differing form the classical yacht designs, the Origami yacht features flowing and elongate lines to have a more simple but original design. Combining performance of a modern yacht, the Origami with its distinctive feature to close the wings during navigation makes it fast and aerodynamic, while at anchor, the yacht opens its walls fully to allow the user enjoy greater space on the main bridge with a sea view of 360 degrees. While the project is still on the papers, the estimated price would be around 6 million Euros.
This car right here is the sassiest little number this side of Volvo, and it’s aiming to be the car that leads every pack. Designer Nouphone J. Bansasine presents his vision for the 4 door coupe, taking the trend for these to be highly sought after, producing here a 4 door sportscar for the year 2015. What’s more? This car was made during an internship Bansasine rolled with at the Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center (VMCC.
According to designer Valentin Vodev, a lot of care and safety concerns were taken into consideration when it was designed. In addition to an extra safety belt on the child seat, the Roller Buggy also features a set of hydraulic disc brakes on the front two wheels allowing the speed to be easily reduced at any time. The Roller Buggy can also be transformed into a standard push stroller for use in places where scooting is frowned upon, and while I’m sure there will be plenty of uproar over child safety if this somehow ever becomes available for sale, with a little common sense it seems like a faster and generally more entertaining alternative way to get around with your little one.
This may seem like an “as seen on TV” type of product, but the Portable B Ball System ($550) could actually be quite useful. It attaches to a standard 2-inch trailer hitch on any truck or SUV, and features a telescoping pole system so you can leave it installed while driving to wherever you plan on playing. The Portable B Ball system would be great for those of us who don’t have ample space to hoop it up at home — we could just jump in our imaginary Hummer and drive down to the Lowe’s parking lot to show off our Jordan-esque skills to all of the weirdos buying home improvement stuff.
Also called “ordinary” or “high” bicycle, Penny Farthing is an early model of bicycle that’s largely produced in the U.S. and England in the mid to late 19th century. The very first model is invented in 1871 by a British engineer named James Starley. This is the world’s first efficient bicycle with a small rear wheel and a large front wheel that pivots in a simple tubular frame. The pedals are directly mounted to the front wheel and its tires are made up of rubber. With this bicycle, people can get around cobblestone streets faster than walking.
The Stokke® Xplory® stroller is a well-designed baby pushchair that’s suitable from birth. The seat can be positionedto face the parent, allowing for eye contact to be maintained at all times. The brief for the KRE House was quite simple: “I want a 9 car garage and be able to enjoy viewing one of them in the living room.” Takuya Tsuchida designed a house with an elevator for one car from the garage to the living room. Of course, the owner of this house in Tokyo owns a Lamborghini Countach Anniversary edition and can justify (or afford) such extravagance.

General Motors unveiled a trio of EN-V (Electric Networked-Vehicle) concepts, as a solution for congested urban centres. Their all-electric, two-wheel drivetrains will reduce emissions problems with a lithium ion battery that will power each EN-V up to 40 miles per charge. The EN-Vs will be on display at the SAIC-GM Pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai beginning in May (via GM Media).
Problems in cities are on rise and probably will grow day by day – traffic, lack of sufficient space, and pollution are just few of the main concerns. Designer Erik Lanuza’s Taurus is a safe, eco-friendly and space efficient personal transport vehicle that aims to resolve these problems. The Taurus is a self-balancing vehicle with a zero emission electric motor and sufficient safety mechanisms. By leaning forward and backward the rider can control the speed and change the direction (via AtCrux).
The fastest production car in the world Bugatti is in the works on finalizing this four-door version for its release somewhere in 2012.
