Michael Jai White as Jax? Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade? Baraka and Reptile as homicidal maniacs? This footage from what looks to be the next Mortal Kombat game or movie trailer is brutal, disgusting, and perfect.
We love R2, and we’ve really never been satisfied with having a simple figurine of our little hero — we want something closer to the real thing. That’s exactly what you get with the R2-D2 Telephone ($100). Based on R2’s look from the original trilogy, R2-D2’s head spins, a light flashes and “the R2D2 sound” is produced whenever there is an incoming call. We haven’t had a land line for quite some time, but this is cool enough to make us take a step back into the land of wires and phone jacks.
We’re not too sure why this is called the Star Wars Iron Man 2 Lamp Clock and MP3 Dock, as there really isn’t any Star Wars reference to it at all. Perhaps it is a prophecy of things to come, where Tony Stark could actually go up against Darth Vader using a suit which is resistant to being manipulated by the Force? Who knows? What we do know is, this is one cute little Iron Man lamp that sports the Mark VI armor, where it also doubles up as an alarm clock to help you get out of bed and realize that in a million years you will never be able to measure up to Tony Stark’s lavish playboy lifestyle. Apart from that, you can plug it up to a compatible MP3 player to turn this into a speaker – now how’s that for functionality? Place a $49.99 pre-order today and watch it ship later this September.

This simple yet confounding model was named the Illusion of the Year by the Meiji Institute for Advanced Study of Mathematical Sciences, Japan.
This kind of optical illusion, which I named “Impossible Motion”, was discovered in my engineering research for machine interpretation of line drawings. In order to check the behavior of my software, I gave what are called “pictures of impossible objects” as the input expecting the software to judge them impossible. However, my software sometimes interprets “pictures of impossible objects” as actual solids, from which I found that some of “pictures of impossible objects” are not impossible; they can be constructed although general angles are used where they look rectangular.
Umbro’s most recent ad incorporates a top model that represents their country and their jersey for the World Cup collection. What’s the concept you ask? Simple. Sex sells!
